I’m on a bus to Chicago with friends I grew up with. Eight of us get together regularly (only six together in Chicago this year). Three of us even grew up on the same street.

Last year, we hung out in small-town Albia, Iowa and it was there that during a giddy, girly * but awesome * night of dancing we planned to flash mob one friend’s wedding. (Don’t worry, she was in on it.) After band teacher Ja pieced together a little Usher-Usher, brilliant Am choreographed the flash mob and posted it on YouTube so we could all learn it remotely. We never practiced together and we didn’t tell our husbands. Then four months later in the middle of Je’s toast, we rocked it. We did. I’m quite sure I’m not allowed to post our flash mob video, but here’s a screenshot of Je’s shining moment:

So yeah, Chicago. Here we come…
