Sketch prompt #24: Holiday. My 8-year-old daughter taking in the over-stimulating view over the railing at Cincinnati’s Crate & Barrel. I don’t shop much, so this trip with her Grandma, aunts, and me over the holiday may have been one of her first visits to a big somewhat “fancy” store. The view of the huge banners from this view was striking – especially because they were the same color and style as her knit dress (shades of hot pink in stripes) – and she looked so grown up… but childlike and filled with wonder like only kids are.

Sketch prompt #25: Family. My husband’s family was all together for the first time in a long time this Christmas. My sister-in-law’s husband just received his Visa and arrived in the U.S. from Guatemala this fall. This is a really quick sketch of my father-in-law, husband, and brother-in-law teaching my “new” brother-in-law how to play a family card came over the holiday.
