I love this drawing Nancy Gronholm submitted for “Vanity” on Illustration Friday. On her blog she wrote, “Do you ever get the feeling there’s a little bit of vanity involved in our blogging, facebooking, twittering etc etc etc ..? ;)”

Sometimes blogs let us put our best foot forward and ignore… our worst foot? Hmm. Anyway, every now and then, I try to share the not-so-pretty parts of my days. Today’s sketch prompt (#4) is “real” so I drew what the window sill above our kitchen sink looks like right now:

L to R: Beads for the kids’ friendship necklaces, a package of AAA batteries, almost-used-up watercolors, a Netti Pot, a wiffle golf ball, a broken hinge, a stapler, a half-finished painting by my daughter, a giant Ball jar, a glass, more batteries, a toy tin cup, and WD-40.

Sigh. :)
